A number of you might have read in various social media about my involvement as lead author of the UK’s Infrastructure and Projects Authority’s Project Delivery Functional Standard. The Association for Project Management recently hosted a public webinar to promote awareness of this new standard, which I was pleased to take part in. You can see the webinar, slides and a number of polls on the APM’s web site.

You can download your own copy of the standard here.

The Infrastructure and Project’s Authority has also released a blog on this event which includes details on how you can feedback to them.

Whilst this document is aimed at users in the public sector, those in the private and voluntary sectors will also find it useful as most of the principles and concepts are applicable regardless of sector. Only today, I heard about a ‘Meet-Up’ group of senior PPM practitioners in Toronto, Canada, who use my Project Workout as a basis for their discussions; well, for you, and people like them, the UK government’s standard is an example of The Project Workout being applied in ‘real life’.
